Adriana Orifici is a Research Fellow and PhD Candidate at the Centre for Employment and Labour Relations Law. She is also the Associate Editor of the Australian Journal of Labour Law. Adriana researches in employment law, with a particular focus on workplace investigations, the general protections provisions of the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) and anti-discrimination law. Her PhD examines the interface between workplace investigations and public regulation.
Between November 2013 – July 2016, Adriana worked with Professor Beth Gaze and Associate Professor Anna Chapman on an Australian Research Council Discovery Project entitled 'Reshaping Employment Discrimination Law: Towards Substantive Equality at Work?'.
From 2007 to 2013, Adriana worked as a lawyer and senior associate at Maddocks in Melbourne. Her practice was in the area of employment law, work health and safety, privacy law and coronial inquests. She has extensive experience in acting for clients in the public and private sector in all employment-related matters.
In 2012, Adriana held the position of Intern-Collaborator with the International Training College of the International Labour Organisation in Turin, Italy under the auspices of a scholarship from the Italian Government.
Adriana graduated with honours in Arts and Law from the Melbourne Law School and holds a Master of Law degree from the Melbourne Law School. Adriana is also a volunteer lawyer in the Employment Law Service at WEstjustice.
