Overview

Tony Duggan holds the Hon Frank H Iacobucci Chair in the Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto and is a Professorial Fellow at the Melbourne Law School, University of Melbourne. He was Associate Dean of the University of Toronto Faculty of Law from 2002-2004. Before moving to Toronto he held the Henry Bournes Higgins Chair in the Faculty of Law at Monash University. His main teaching and research interests are secured transactions (PPSA), bankruptcy and insolvency law and equity and trusts. He won the Mewett Teaching Award at the University of Toronto in 2009-2010, 2010-2011 and 2013-2014. Recent PPSA-related books include Australian Personal Property Securities Law (2nd ed, Lexis Nexis Australia, 2015) (with David Brown) and Secured Transactions in Personal Property: Cases, Text and Materials (6th ed 2013, Emond Montgomery, Toronto) (with Jacob Ziegel). He is Editor-in-Chief of the Canadian Business Law Journal, is a member of the American Law Institute and is the immediate past President of the International Academy of Commercial and Consumer Law.
