George A Hay is one of the foremost antitrust authorities in the United States. After he received his PhD in economics from Northwestern University, he taught economics at Yale University for five years, until he joined the United States Department where he served as the chief economist of the Antitrust Division. He joined the faculty at Cornell University in 1979 and is currently the Charles Frank Reavis, Sr Professor of Law and Professor of Economics. He teaches Antitrust Law and a variety of other law and law-related subjects in both the Law School and the College of Arts and Sciences and lectures on antitrust throughout the United States and the rest of the world. He has appeared as an expert witness in antitrust cases in Australia, Canada, and New Zealand as well as the United States. He has been a Fulbright Scholar at Oxford and has taught at the University of Sydney Law School, the University of New South Wales Law School, and the University of Melbourne Law School.
