Overview

Scheherazade is a Chief Advisor - Technical Assurance for Rio Tinto, an international mining company. Prior to her current role, Scheherazade was Chief Counsel - Rio Tinto Projects, responsible for legal support in relation to construction projects across Rio Tinto's product groups. Rio Tinto's projects include mine, plant, rail, port, roads, accommodation and other infrastructure and facilities related to mining, in various locations, including Australia, Mongolia, United States, South Africa and Guinea.

Scheherazade has been with Rio Tinto for ten years, and is based out of Brisbane, Queensland. Before that she spent seven years working in London for the law firm Hogan Lovells in its Projects, Engineering and Construction department, on both disputes (including arbitration) and front end projects.

Scheherazade is a member of the IBA and the Society of Construction Law; she also has an MSc from King's College London in Construction and Arbitration.
