Overview

Thomas Skouteris is Associate Professor of Law and director of the LLM Program in International and Comparative Law at the American University in Cairo. He previously taught at Leiden University and the Central European University. He has served as Secretary General of the European Society of International Law, Editor-in-Chief of the Leiden Journal of International Law, and Senior Fellow at the European Law Research Center of Harvard University. His research focuses on the theory and practice of international law, with a special interest in history, normativity, dispute settlement and international criminal law. He is author of The Notion of Progress in International Law Discourse (2010).
