Overview

Trevor Thomas is a Partner in the Projects Group at Corrs Chambers Westgarth and is also a Senior Fellow at Melbourne Law School, specialising in construction law. He holds the following degrees: Bachelor of Engineering; Master of Engineering; Bachelor of Laws; Master of Laws (by coursework); and Master of Laws (by thesis) and has practised as an engineer and lawyer in Australia, Germany and the United Kingdom.

Trevor has a diverse practice acting for government, principals and contractors on a range of projects including: transport infrastructure (including airports, road, rail and sea ports); mining projects; telecommunications infrastructure; power projects (conventional and renewable); and other significant infrastructure. Trevor acts primarily in non-contentious transactions but also has experience in contractual claims and dispute resolution.

He is widely published in domestic and international construction law journals and his work has been cited with approval by a number of Australian Supreme Courts. Trevor was the inaugural winner of the Brooking Prize, has a number of high commendations for the Hudson Prize and is a previous winner of the Tom Yuncken award.
