Melbourne Law School Australia's number one again

Melbourne Law School has again been recognised as Australia's number one law school in the 2015 QS World University Rankings by Subject.

The rankings, released this week, placed Melbourne Law School courses at eighth in the world among such other leading law schools as Harvard and Oxford. No other Australian law school was ranked in the top ten.

Melbourne Law School Dean Professor Carolyn Evans said the results demonstrate Melbourne Law School's continued standing as a thought-leader in legal education.

"While all rankings systems have limitations, these rankings are recognition of the high quality of our graduates, the excellence of our teaching and the quality of our research," Professor Evans said.

"This result also highlights the excellent reputation the Law School has both domestically and internationally as offering a quality legal education that prepares students for a strong transition into a competitive and changing profession."

The QS University Rankings compare universities in a specific region by subject area, or based on factors such as reputation or research citations.
