The Melbourne JD is a graduate law degree that leads to a diverse range of careers from legal practice, through to business, government and community organisations. Hear from eight of our students about their experience, their tips for the LSAT and their advice for studying law.

Meet Panagiota 

Panagiota is a third year JD student and works part time as a paralegal at law firm in Melbourne’s CBD. Prior to commencing the JD, Panagiota completed at Bachelor of Arts majoring in criminology and politics. Her favourite subject in the JD has been Trusts. In her spare time, Panagiota loves to cook.

Meet Patrick 

Patrick is a second year JD student and is a general member of the Melbourne University Law Review (MULR). Before coming to the Law School, Patrick completed a Bachelor of Arts and a Diploma in Music. He recently completed an internship in Darwin with the North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency and has a background in musical theatre.

Meet Ken 

Ken is a second year JD student and the Competitions Director of the Melbourne University Law Students’ Society. Ken completed a Bachelor of Science before coming to Melbourne Law School. He continues to work as a part time anatomy tutor in the science faculty at the University of Melbourne. His favourite subject of the JD has been Constitutional Law.

Meet Tess 

Tess is a second year JD student and the current international student representative of the Melbourne University Law Students’ Society. During her undergraduate degree, Tess studied arts at the University of Melbourne. She also works as a volunteer at Women and Mentoring (WAM).

Meet Ayman 

Ayman is a second year JD student and is the Equality and Social Justice Director of the Melbourne University Law Students’ Society. Prior to coming to the Law School, Ayman completed a Bachelor of Arts. His favourite subject in the JD has been Constitutional Law. In his free time, Ayman enjoys checking the international film festivals that roll through town.

Meet Peggy 

Peggy is a second year JD student and is the Equality and Social Justice Director of the Melbourne University Law Students’ Society. She completed a Bachelor of Arts prior to enrolling in the Melbourne JD. In her spare time, Peggy volunteers at the West Justice Community Legal Centre.

Nick is a second year JD student. He is on the Melbourne University Law Review and works part time as a research assistant at MLS. Before coming to the Law School, Nick completed a Bachelor of Environments at the University of Melbourne.
