This In Conversation with the Hon Kenneth Hayne AC QC and Ms Thea Stephenson was presented at the Melbourne Law School on 12 May 2021, to discuss how individuals and institutions can take steps to reduce sexual harassment in the legal sector.

The Hon Kenneth Hayne AC QC is a former Justice of the High Court of Australia where he served for 18 years, retiring in 2015. Prior to his appointment to the High Court, he was a judge of the Supreme Court of Victoria from 1992 to 1995, and a foundation judge of the Court of Appeal of Victoria upon its establishment in 1995 to 1997. Mr Hayne led the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry from December 2017 until 1 February 2019 when he submitted his final report.

Thea Stephenson is a current third-year Juris Doctor student at Melbourne Law School. She is the current President of the Melbourne University Law Students’ Society and previously held the position of Women’s Director for the Law Students’ Society in 2019/2020. Ms Stephenson completed her undergraduate degree in Gender Studies and Criminology at the University of Melbourne in 2018 and is the co-founder and Director of LegalEase Solutions, a legal administrative support services startup.
