Senior Fellow (Melbourne Law Masters)
Simon McKenzie completed a PhD at the University of Melbourne in international criminal law. He is currently working as a Senior Legal Policy Officer at the Department of Justice and Community Safety, focusing mainly on reforming the criminal justice system to better respond to family violence.
Simon graduated in 2011 from the University of Tasmania with a combined Arts and Law Degree with First Class Honours in Law. He was admitted to practice in late 2011, and worked for two years in a large commercial law firm in Melbourne before moving to the Supreme Court of Victoria to take up a position as a Trial Division Researcher. He completed a major research project for the Supreme Court on the management of expert evidence in the Kilmore East Bushfire Proceedings, the largest class action in Victoria's history. He completed his PhD in 2018.
