Dr Genevieve Howse is the Coordinator Legislation and Governance and leads the Health Law and Ethics Team.  She has over twenty year’s experience as a specialist legal and policy consultant with a global practice providing legislative and policy options in the use of law as an intervention to help meet health system priorities and improve overall health system governance.  She has also provided specific advice on the use of law to comply with international legal obligations or commitments such as the International Health Regulations, the Sustainable Development Goals or to help achieve health security. Dr Howse has diverse experience advising governments in countries across several Regions including Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands, Australia, Yemen, Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, UAE, Oman, Qatar, Egypt, Zimbabwe, Jordan, Somalia, Sudan and Botswana. She is qualified in both law and public health, holding a Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Arts and Doctor of Public Health.
