Research Theme 2: Accountability and governance of automated decision-making
Artificial intelligence is increasingly being used to replace human contact in public and private sector services such as health, social security, banking and insurance and telecommunications. The Accountability research theme asks: 'Who is accountable for these processes?', 'How do we know that the services are being provided in a way that is free from bias, safe and secure?' and 'How do we evaluate accountability in digital transactions?'
