Scholarships in AI and Digital Ethics 2020

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital technologies are having a profound impact upon society. Research is required to better understand the ethical, regulatory and legal challenges arising from these emerging technologies.

The Centre of AI and Digital Ethics (CAIDE) was established in 2020 to draw upon the expertise across the University of Melbourne and bring a cross-disciplinary perspective to these issues.

CAIDE is offering two scholarships to talented domestic students to undertake cross-disciplinary graduate research on AI and/or Digital Ethics. The students will join part of a vibrant collaborative, cross-disciplinary research community at CAIDE.

CAIDE is seeking Expressions of Interest from highly accomplished candidates to start their program by the end of 2020. We are seeking cross-disciplinary proposals that align with the work of CAIDE and span two or more of our member faculties: engineering, law, arts and science.

You can contact the CAIDE Special Projects Officer, Adam Lodders to discuss ideas or potential supervisors.

We are looking for domestic candidates with outstanding academic credentials, relevant professional experience or other compelling circumstances, and meet the entry requirements of a PhD at University of Melbourne.

The scholarship will provide funding for domestic students to undertake graduate research at the University of Melbourne. Details are available at: scholarships.unimelb.edu.au/awards/graduate-research-scholarships
