Ensuring Disability Inclusion in Covid-19 Response and Early Recovery in Indonesia

A dedicated activist, Cucu Saidah has over 18 years of experience working on disability rights issues through close partnership with organisations of people with disabilities, government, international non-governmental organisations, media and general public. She founded the organisation, Persons with Disability Bandung Independent Living Center (BILiC), to introduce the philosophy of independent for people with disabilities in Indonesia and Jakarta Barrier Free Tourism to raise the visibility of people with disabilities in public spaces and increase public awareness on the rights of people with disabilities. She earned a Master in Public Administration and Policy, Flinders University, South Australia. She is now a Disability Inclusion Advisor in Indonesia, with roles providing inclusion advice or technical assistance in development and humanitarian sectors.

Ensuring Disability Inclusion in Covid-19 Response and Early Recovery in Indonesia

Cucu Saidah will briefly outline the situation for people with disabilities, both before and during Covid-19. She will talk about the impact of Covid-19 on the lives of people with disabilities, especially for women and girls with disabilities. Cucu will then outline what is needed to ensure disability inclusion in the response to Covid-19 and the early recovery from it.
