Are we in the midst of a new Cold War, one played out through regional hegemonic conflict and contestation around the use of information, technology and economic power? This is an informal session open to interested scholars in any discipline, to explore the need for, and possible contours of a project on a renewed attention to geopolitics in the context of critical development research.

At the session, we will consider one or two short texts circulated in advance, and develop questions of interest concerning development in a rapidly shifting geopolitical context. If you would like to attend, please email Balawyn Jones at law-iilah@unimelb.edu.au.
