Under the supervision of Associate Professor Shaun McVeigh and Professor Sundhya Pahuja, Sadaf will present her thesis titled 'The State of Knowledge and Knowledges of the State in Pakistan'.
The subject matter of this thesis is the Pakistani state in its early years of founding. It looks at the conditions and discourses that organized the offices of the state, offices inherited and or authorized by an outgoing colonial power. It argues that a great many of the ongoing conflicts within the state as well as the recurrence of emergencies can be traced to the operations of the central offices of government in the founding acts of the Pakistani state.
