Andrew Godwin is a Senior Lecturer, Director of Transactional Law and an Associate Director of the Asian Law Centre at Melbourne Law School. Before entering academia Andrew had 20 years’ experience of large corporate practice, including 10 years in Shanghai as a partner and chief representative of the international law firm, Linklaters. He retains significant links with practice in both the large law firm and in-house sectors. Andrew’s research and teaching interests include work on the regulation of the legal professions and the development and teaching of professional and transactional skills for lawyers. He is also a regular contributor to academic and professional publications and consults extensively in the areas of professional training, risk and compliance issues concerning law firms and legal practice, contract drafting and the use of plain language techniques.
