Mr Richter graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws with honours in 1969. Throughout his career he has made an enormous contribution both within and beyond the legal profession. He has acted in some of the most high-profile criminal cases in Australian history and in 2012 was inducted as a Victorian Bar Legend.

The scholarship will be awarded to future generations of students enrolled at Melbourne Law School whose financial circumstances may otherwise have precluded them from this opportunity.
