Australia and the International Court of Justice
This research project on Australia and the International Court of Justice is funded by the Australian Research Council’s Discovery grant scheme. The aim of the project is to identify and assess the place of adjudication in international affairs, focussing on the experience of a particular country - Australia - and a particular institution - the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
Supreme Court of Victoria Commercial Law Conference
The Supreme Court of Victoria Commercial Law Conference is a joint initiative of the Supreme Court of Victoria, Melbourne Law School and the Law School's Centre for Corporate Law. Held annually since 2009, the conference brings together the best of the legal community to reflect and interact on current issues in commercial law.

First Peoples’ Treaties with Victoria: Jurisdiction
In 2019 the Constitution Transformation Network was asked by the Victorian Treaty Advancement Commission to identify potential powers and matters within the jurisdiction of the State of Victoria which were potentially negotiable within the treaty process.

Labour Regulation in East Asia: China
Many developing countries have labour laws that, on paper, are comprehensive and reflect international standards. However, these laws are often widely ignored. This project investigated the reasons for these implementation failures.

Copyright and Cultural Institutions: Guidelines for Digitisations
One of the major elements of the Centre for Media and Communications Law and Intellectual Property Research Institute of Australia research project, Copyright and Cultural Institutions: Digitising Collections in Public Museums, Galleries and Libraries, has been the development of guidelines for digitisation specifically written for the sector by Peter Hirtle, Emily Hudson and Andrew Kenyon.

Post-Soviet as post-colonial
What is the relationship between post-colonial theory and constitutionalism? What role does the construction of history play in this interaction? This seminar discussed these questions in the context of William Partlett and Herbert Küpper’s new book, The Post-Soviet as Post-Colonial: A New Paradigm for Understanding Constitutional Dynamics in the Former Soviet Empire. It addressed three main questions.In this seminar, our panellists critically reflected upon the development of the constitutional freedom over the last 30 years and shared their thoughts in relation to its future. The panel consisted of barrister Kathleen Foley S.C., Professor Dan Meagher (Faculty of Business and Law, Deakin University) and Professor Adrienne Stone (Melbourne Law School, University of Melbourne). Professor Michael Crommelin AO (Melbourne Law School, University of Melbourne) chaired the event.
