About the subject
Overview of Intellectual Property is a two-day seminar that provides a general survey of the various regimes comprising intellectual property (IP) and an introduction to New Zealand legal process.
Overview of Intellectual Property is designed for students seeking accreditation with the Trans-Tasman IP Attorneys Board (TTIPAB) and satisfies Topic Group A2 and part of Topic Group A1 of the professional accreditation requirements.

This subject is not available for academic credit in the Melbourne Law Masters program.

Thursday and Friday, 28-29 November 2024. Delivered on campus.
Assessment
Overview of Intellectual Property assessment is marked on a Pass/Fail basis.
- Take-home examination (1,500 words) (100%)
- 100% attendance is a hurdle requirement.
The take-home examination will be released Friday 13 December 2024 and is due Monday 16 December 2024.
The assessment due date is fixed and cannot be rescheduled without prior approval.

How to apply
All applicants must have completed prior tertiary studies.
Places are limited and priority will be given to students seeking accreditation with the TTIPAB and/or enrolled in a Melbourne Law School Graduate Diploma or Masters course.
