Mr Benoît Battistelli prepared the Francis Gurry Lecture on Intellectual Property on Wednesday 18 October 2017 on the topic "The European Patent System: Serving the Global Economy".

Due to personal reasons, Mr Battistelli was unable to travel to Australia. His address was delivered on his behalf by Ms Margot Fröhlinger, Principal Director Unitary Patent, European and International Legal Affairs.
