Sir Anthony Mason Lecture – 4.08.17

The Honourable Robert French AC presented a public lecture on Friday 4 August 2017 on the topic, "Executive and Legislative Power in the Implementation of Intergovernmental Agreements".

The 2017 Sir Anthony Mason Lecture was presented by the Honourable Robert French AC who spoke on the topic: “Executive and Legislative Power in the Implementation of Intergovernmental Agreements”. The proliferation of intergovernmental agreements raises questions about their effect on the content of Commonwealth legislative and executive powers and the position of the States in the Federation.  The Sir Anthony Mason Honorary Lecture is a calendar highlight for the University's Law Student Society. It was inaugurated in 1995, the year of Sir Anthony Mason's retirement as Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia.
