Carol Andrades

Senior Fellow (Melbourne Law Masters)


Carol is a Senior Fellow at the University of Melbourne. She has particular expertise in discrimination law, industrial law and employment law and is a frequent speaker at legal conferences.

Carol is a member of the Advisory Board of the University's Centre for Employment and Labour Relations Law. She sits on the Editorial Board of the Lexis Nexis Employment Law Bulletin, and wrote the chapter on Freedom from Discrimination and Harassment in the Australian Charter of Employment Rights.

Carol has also been a member of various Committees, including the Women's Sub-Committee of the Federation of Ethnic Community Councils, Womens Legal Centre and Domestic Violence Service Management Committees, the Queen Victoria Women’s Centre  and Fitzroy Legal Service. She worked with the International Labour Organisation in Vietnam to assist with aspects of the introduction of that country's Labour Code.

Carol received the Australian Federation of AIDS Organisation's President's Award for services to the community AIDS effort in Australia, for advocacy in the Special Family Leave Test Case.
