Overview

Christopher teaches international law, human rights and legal theory at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, and has written extensively on the topics of international criminal law and justice. He has Fellowships at the University of Oxford and Harvard Law School and sits on the Editorial Board of the South African Journal on Human Rights. As a practitioner, he has advised and assisted litigants in cases involving international law in South Africa and abroad, including before the Israeli High Court and the United States Supreme Court. For the past decade he has been working with families of victims of apartheid atrocities in South Africa, who are seeking civil and criminal justice. He is the expert witness for the State in the first crimes against humanity prosecution in South Africa, and the first prosecution of the crime of apartheid anywhere in the world.
