Overview

Nadezhda (Nadia) Rendak is an Assistant General Counsel in the Legal Department of the International Monetary Fund in Washington, DC. Since joining the IMF in 2000, she has worked on a wide range of IMF legal and policy matters related to IMF surveillance and financing operations, exchange and financial systems, cross-border capital flows and IMF governance. Before joining the IMF, Nadia practiced law with the law firm Debevoise & Plimpton in New York and Moscow, advising on commercial law and international transactions, including corporate and securities law, mergers and acquisitions, oil and gas and telecommunications. She is a graduate of the international law department of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) in Russia and holds a master’s degree (LLM) from the New York University (NYU) School of Law in the US and is admitted to practice law in Russia and in the State of New York. Nadia speaks regularly at international seminars and conferences and conducts training of government officials on issues related to IMF operations and legal aspects of international financial systems.
