Rebecca Dickson

Overview

Rebecca Dickson is a Senior Fellow at Melbourne Law School and teaches in the Construction Law Masters program.

She is a PhD Student at Monash University undertaking research into construction law reform in Australia (including in relation to the regulation of the construction industry) and she is the author of publications relating to collaborative contracting and the impact of COVID-19 on Australia’s construction law.

Rebecca has practised as a construction lawyer for over 10 years in law firms (Maddocks and MinterEllison) and as in house counsel. She specialises in construction contract drafting and negotiation and has supported the delivery of the Port Capacity Project for the then Port of Melbourne Corporation and Melbourne Airport’s Third Runway Program.

Rebecca is the Head of Legal at John Beever (Australia). John Beever is a mechanical, electrical and civil contractor within the ACCIONA Australia New Zealand group and it is currently delivering Australia’s first and second waste to energy facilities in Western Australia.

Rebecca is a director of the National Association of Women in Construction, Australian Gender Equality Council and the Port Melbourne Football Club; she is also a former director of the Society of Construction Law Australia (where she co-chaired the Young Constructors Committee and implemented the Society’s inaugural, national mentoring program).
