Ruth Buchanan is a Professor of Law at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, Toronto. She has research and teaching interests in the areas of globalisation, law and development, international human rights, international economic law, critical legal theory and law and film. Her research frequently engages with issues of legal pluralism, resistance and effect. She has previously held teaching appointments at the University of British Columbia and the University of New Brunswick in Canada, and has been a visiting research fellow at Birkbeck College, University of London.
