Stephen Sempill (LLB (Hons), BA, University of Melbourne) has taught at Melbourne Law School since 2009. He has also taught extensively in criminology and socio-legal studies in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Melbourne.
Stephen’s current research is in Criminal Law, Labour Law, and Political Theory with a particular focus on modern-day slavery in Australia and the United Kingdom.
Stephen was Research Fellow at the Centre for Employment and Labour Relations Law at Melbourne Law School.
Stephen worked on a major review of the criminal law for the Victorian Department of Justice. He was also Senior Associate to the Honourable Justice David Byrne, Supreme Court of Victoria.
He has held various other posts, including:
