2019
Kathleen Fitzpatrick Visiting Fellowships in the
Laureate Program in Comparative Constitutional Law

Applications are invited from suitably qualified female doctoral and early career scholars to participate in the Laureate Program in Comparative Constitutional Law at Melbourne Law School during 2019.

Overview

Professor Adrienne Stone is the holder of a Kathleen Fitzpatrick Australian Laureate Fellowship awarded by the Australian Research Council from 2016 – 2021. The purpose of the award is to establish a world-class, capacity building center for comparative constitutional law at Melbourne Law School known as the Laureate Project on Comparative Constitutional Law.  Further, recipients of the award are funded to undertake an ambassadorial role to promote women in research.

Within the project, the Kathleen Fitzpatrick Visiting Fellowships support outstanding female researchers to build the Project’s research capacity, undertake innovative research programs and mentor early career researchers. As such, the Kathleen Fitzpatrick Visiting Fellowships allow outstanding female doctoral and early career researchers the opportunity to visit Melbourne and work with the program for one to two months each year.

The Fellows will be closely integrated into the Laureate Project and the academic life of the Centre for Comparative Constitutional Studies, taking part in project events and workshops, and participating in work-in-progress seminars. The Melbourne Institute for Comparative Constitutional Law conference will be held in Melbourne, 9 – 11 December 2019, and applicants are encouraged to consider timing their proposed program to include this event.

Funding of up to AUD$3000 will be considered for the Kathleen Fitzpatrick Visiting Fellow, towards the costs of travel to, and accommodation in Melbourne.  Visiting fellows from outside Australia are responsible for obtaining and funding any necessary visas.
