Call for Papers - 14th Annual CILIS Islamic Studies Postgraduate Conference

This conference aims to bring together postgraduate students, from around Australia and overseas, who are researching topics relating to Islam.

13 & 14 NOVEMBER 2018
Melbourne Law School, 185 Pelham Street, Carlton, Victoria

Within a supportive and collegial atmosphere, this 2-day conference brings together students and senior academic mentors with similar interests.

Special sessions on thesis-writing and small-group feedback on student research will be included in the program.

Panels will be chaired by leading scholars and researchers. Examples of possible presentation and panels include (but are not limited to):

* Islam and Education
* Islamic Thinking
* Muslims and Gender
* Muslims and Modernity
* Islam and Identity

Applicants must be current postgraduate students studying in any research area relating to Islam. All are welcome to apply!

PLEASE NOTE: All participants are responsible for covering their own travel and accommodation expenses to and in Melbourne.

Small grants of up to $200 may be available for students who face financial difficulty that would prevent them attending.
