Overview
Deputy Director of HeLEX@Melbourne. My research is focused upon the regulation of personal information with emphasis upon health information and genetic data. I am interested in the law of data protection and the common law duty of confidence and the reconciliation within both legal regimes of protections for privacy and public interest. I seek to challenge any presentation of privacy interests as necessarily antithetical to the public interest and to develop a concept of privacy that is capable of reconciling individual and community (privacy) interests with a broader (public) interest in access, use and management of personal health information.
