Ha Hai Do is a Research Associate at the Asian Law Centre, Melbourne Law School, University of Melbourne. He holds an LL.M. and a Ph.D. in law from the University of Melbourne. He has held academic positions at the University of Melbourne and the University of Oxford, and previously taught and practised law in Vietnam for over a decade.
His research lies at the intersection of law and development, legal change and transplantation, comparative and transnational regulation, law and society, labour law and platform work, and socialist legality, with particular expertise in Vietnam and the legal dimensions of Chinese globalism. His work has been published in leading outlets, including Law and Social Inquiry, International & Comparative Law Quarterly, and Asian Journal of Law and Society. He has also collaborated extensively with international organisations, including the ILO, FES, and the Fairwork project, on labour law reform and platform work.
