Yanjie (Andrew) Zhu is a PhD candidate at Melbourne Law School. Prior to joining the PhD program, Andrew studied law in mainland China, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom and Australia. His research interests include criminal law, legal theory, law and literature, and law in China. His doctoral research investigates the duty question in bystander scenarios: whether a person who encounters another in peril may be under a legal duty to intervene, and how such a duty should be understood in ethical and legal contexts.
In his spare time, Andrew enjoys cycling, films and board games. He is also a proud dad of two guinea pigs, Dollar and Tanya.
