Dr Pura Angela (Peewee) Wee Co

Country Manager (Philippines), ThinkWell

Dr. Pura Angela (Peewee) Wee Co is a public health expert with experience in health policy, health systems, health financing, health information systems and development management. She obtained her medical degree from the University of the Philippines and took her Master of Science in Public Health (Health System Management) from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She also finished her Master of Arts in Health Policy through the College of Arts in Science in UP Manila. She has served in various roles in the Philippine Health System. She initially worked at the UP National Telehealth Center where she managed various HIS initiatives. She has also worked or consulted in various government, non-government organization, academic and development agencies including the PhilHealth, the Asian Institute of Management, UNICEF, and Asian Development Bank. She is currently the Philippine Country Manager of ThinkWell, a Washington-based firm founded in 2011 to translate the global commitment into creative, practical, and bold solutions to achieving universal health coverage. ThinkWell is currently implementating the Strategic Purchasing for Primary Health Care (SP4PHC) project, a BMGF funded initiative which aims to improve how governments purchase primary health care services with a focus on family planning and maternal health. Through SP4PHC, ThinkWell was able to provide support for the COVID-19 response of the government including the DOH’s Telemedicine sandbox.
