The 2019 Indonesian Elections: Electoral Accountability And Democratic Quality

Please join us for a full-day workshop on the 2019 Indonesian presidential and legislative elections and their implications for electoral accountability and democratic quality in Indonesia.

The workshop brings together leading scholars and politicians from Indonesia and Australia to discuss this year’s electoral campaign, the sources of power for contestants for public office, the functioning of Indonesia’s electoral institutions and political system, as well as the prospects for the observance of rights under a second term Jokowi administration.

The workshop is presented by  the University of Melbourne’s Asia Institute with the sponsorship of the Indonesian Democracy Hallmark Research Initiative. Dr Dave McRae (Asia Institute, IDeHaRI Deputy Chair) is the workshop convenor.
