Speaking and professional development offerings

The Hub is available to run seminars, including continuing professional development (CPD) events for lawyers, on issues within our areas of experience and research interest. We value opportunities to engage and share ideas outside of traditional University contexts.

Our seminars may be delivered by Director and members of the hub.

Areas we consider may be of benefit based on the work we are currently directly engaged in include:

• Key public law issues in the Australian First Peoples -State Treaty processes
• Indigenous identity and the Constitution of Australia: a review of recent High Court jurisprudence
• Reflections on culturally appropriate legal service provision for practitioners
• Emerging issues in access to justice for Indigenous peoples

The Hub does not offer core cultural awareness training. Our seminars would complement and build on Indigenous cultural awareness offerings that legal organisations may complete.
