Professor James Penner

J E Penner (B.Sc., UWO; LLB., Toronto; D.Phil., Oxford) is Kwa Geok Choo Professor of Property Law at the National University of Singapore. He is one of the world’s leading experts in the philosophy of property and the law of trusts, and writes more widely in the areas of private law and the philosophy of law. He has been a visiting professor in China, Canada, Belgium, and Australia, and most recently at Harvard Law School.  His books include of The Idea of Property in Law (OUP 1997), Property Rights: A Re-Examination (OUP 2020) and The Law of Trusts (OUP, 2022, 12th Ed.)
