MLS alumni recognised in Queen’s Birthday Honours

Melbourne Law School congratulates a number of our alumni who were recently recognised in the 2018 Queen’s Birthday Honours list. It is a tribute to the dedication and commitment of these members of our community who have worked tirelessly in their fields.

  • Mr Andrew I Crockett AM (LLB 1970)
    for significant service to the law particularly to legal aid services, to education, and to the community
  • Ms Jackie M Fristacky AM (BA(Hons) 1970, LLB 1972, LLM 1975, MPPM 1996)
    for significant service to local government, and to the community of Melbourne
  • Mr Thomas E Gleisner AO (BA 1983, LLB 1986)
    for distinguished service to the media and television industries as a writer, producer, actor and presenter, to children living with cancer, and as a supporter of young people with autism spectrum disorders
  • Mr Alan Goldstone OAM (LLB 1974)
    for service to Jewish education, and to the law
  • Mr Colin D Golvan AM QC (LLB 1979, BA(Hons) 1978)
    for significant service to the law, to legal education, particularly support for Indigenous students, and to the arts through governance and philanthropy
  • Mr John M Hobday OAM (LLB 1962)
    for service to golf
  • Professor Timothy C Lindsey AO (BA(Hons) 1985, BLitt(Hons) 1986, LLB 1987, PhD 1994)
    for distinguished service to international relations, particularly in promoting understanding between Indonesia and Australia, as an academic, and to legal education in Islamic law
  • Mr James G Nicol AM (LLB 1971)
    for significant service to the community of Warrnambool through contributions to local government, tertiary education, sport, health and social welfare
  • Ms Padma P Raman PSM (LLM 1997)
    for outstanding public service in leading significant cultural, technological and governance change at the Australian Human Rights Commission
  • Mr Christopher J Rodd OAM (GDip Insurance Law)
    for service to the insurance industry
  • Professor Peter A Sallmann AM (LLB 1972)
    for significant service to the legal profession as a leader and advisor to professional judicial organisations, and as an education
  • Mr Anthony E Sell OAM (BA(Hons) 1965, LLB 1967)
    for service to pipe bands
  • Mr Robert G Sharples OAM (LLB 1968)
    for service to community health as a psychologist
