Tackling food marketing to children in a digital world: trans-disciplinary perspectives
Dr Monika Zalnieriute, Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Melbourne Law School, has co-authored the new WHO report entitled: Tackling food marketing to children in a digital world: trans-disciplinary perspectives.
For the first time, researchers and health experts have undertaken a comprehensive inter-disciplinary analysis of the concerning digital marketing to children of foods high in fats, salt and sugars. The 30-page report investigates children’s rights, evidence of impact, methodological challenges, and regulatory options for tackling food marketing to children in a digital world and calls for immediate action by policy-makers to recognize and address the growing issue of marketing targeted to children via digital media.
