Application process

The Visiting Scholar Program accepts applications year-round.

Availability of Visits

Visits can be scheduled only during the University’s teaching semesters:

• Semester 1: February to June
• Semester 2: July to November

Visits are to finish before the summer break. Visits cannot be scheduled from mid December through the end of January.

Application Process

Before applying, applicants must first confirm that a Melbourne Law School academic staff member is willing to host their visit. Once this has been confirmed, the hosting staff member will submit an online request on the applicant’s behalf. The applicant will then receive a link to complete the online application form and provide all supporting documentation.

International Visitors

Early planning is essential for participation in the Melbourne Law School Visiting Scholar Program. Please be aware visa processing times can exceed five months.

Notification of Outcome

Applicants will be advised of the outcome within one month of their application being reviewed.
