  • Professor Ian Ramsay appointed to the ASIC External Advisory Panel
    In January 2009, Professor Ian Ramsay was appointed to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission External Advisory Panel. The purpose of the Panel (which is a new body) is to provide ASIC with "very senior advice from the financial services industry in order to help ASIC meet its statutory objectives. The Panel will assist ASIC in gaining a deeper understanding of developments and systemic risks within the financial services industry which are likely to have implications for:(a) the integrity of capital markets:
    (b) consumers of financial services and products and investors:
    (c) international capital flows; and
    (d) systemic stability within the financial system."

  • ASIC Honours Corporate Law AcademicsThe Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has named rooms in its new Victorian offices after Professor Ian Ramsay, Director of the Centre for Corporate Law and Securities Regulation at the University of Melbourne (pictured with ASIC Chairman, Mr Jeffrey Lucy) and Emeritus Professor Harold Ford, former Dean of the University of Melbourne Law School.
