Statelessness Reading Group

The Peter McMullin Centre on Statelessness is thrilled to relaunch the reading group on statelessness in 2023. The aim is to create a space for in-depth discussion of texts on the topics of statelessness, nationality, citizenship and related topics, as well as to foster connections between those interested in these topics.

The reading group will meet monthly on Wednesdays from 3-4pm. Below are the dates for the first half of the year.

29 March
26 April
24 May
21 June

The reading group will be in a hybrid format, so as to be accessible to those not able to attend in person. The readings, meeting room within the Melbourne Law School and Zoom link will be communicated via email in advance of each session. For those attending in person, we will arrange for a beverage.

The reading for the first session on 29 March is:

E.Tendayi Achiume, 'Racial Borders' (2022) 110(3) The Georgetown Law Journal 445-508. The article is open access.

We will share the readings for the rest of the sessions in due course. If you have any reading recommendations, please share with us your recommendations by 3 April 2023. This will help us share a list of readings in advance for the year.

If you are interested in joining the group, please email  aimmanuel@student.unimelb.edu.au or sumedhac@student.unimelb.edu.au.
