Adeeb Shahin

Adeeb Shahin was born as a Palestinian refugee, in March 1954 in South Lebanon. He came to Australia when he was about 19. He had been a tailor in Lebanon, but in Australia he worked in a factory and then in landscaping. His siblings also migrated to Australia, both before and after him, and they lived first in Sydney and then in Adelaide.

In his interview he explained that being stateless feels like being “like an orphan, honestly. When a child got no mum or dad to belong to. Honestly, if you want the best way to describe it is like being an orphan.”
