Yasser Kureshi

Yasser Kureshi is a postdoctoral fellow with Trinity College and the Programme for the Foundations of Law and Constitutional Government at the University of Oxford. Previously, he spent two years as a Senior Teaching Fellow with the Department of Politics and International Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies (2018-2020). Originally from Pakistan, he holds a PhD in Politics from Brandeis University (2018) and a Juris Doctorate from Boston University School of Law. Yasser studies the constitutional politics of unelected institutions in post-authoritarian states. His focus is primarily on the military and the judiciary and their impact on constitutional configurations and democratic outcomes in post-authoritarian states. His research has been published in edited volumes and peer-reviewed journals, including Comparative Politics and the Journal of Conflict Resolution. Yasser participated in the Melbourne Forum 2020.
