    Historical Note: The Melbourne law firm was established in 1853 as Wisewould, Wilson & Gibbs, a partnership between James Wisewould, P.J. Wilson and E.M. Gibbs. The firm went through several name and partner changes, Wisewould being the one constant. For the first half of the twentieth century, it was known as Wisewould & Duncan; in the 1970s it became Wisewould, Schilling, Missen & Impey; in 1989 it changed to its present name of Wisewould's.
